Cirencester
Cirencester is a ground I
have always liked, and a couple of years we played it twice. At the
start of the season and then again at the end. Now we just play for
two weeks in one go and I always remember it as last ground of the
season and this was the case this year also.
This is another ground that
Willow remembered, though not straight away and not for happy
reasons. Last time we were here I had gone to the shops and Willow
decided to take Daisy for a walk. Before she got her lead on and
before Tweedy realised, Daisy had shot out the gate looking for me,
followed by Willow. Luckily a nice lady was there to help and
disaster was prevented. I hadn’t said anything to remind her and
it took a few days but one day as we walked through the gate it
suddenly hit her and she remembered and missing the dog came flooding
back.
This year though, it was
very different for us as a few months ago we decided to make
Cirencester our home and got a house here. It is fairly central to
the Giffords Circus tour which is 6 months of the year but also close
to the M4 and M5 if Tweedy has work else where. On top of that it is
a really nice town and feels like it has a good community going on.
The new school year also
started which meant another new school for Willow, though hopefully
this will be the last new primary school for her. As with all her
schools she settled in straight away and loved it, which is handy as
she will be here for a couple of years.
I was amazed at how well
Willow coped with school and shows. She was getting up at 7am to go
to school, then it was straight to the circus for 2 shows with her
getting to bed just after 10pm. Luckily it was only for a week as
I'm sure she wouldn't have managed that schedule for very long.
Being the last two weeks of
the season is a busy time, getting things ready to store away but
also busy as we have a talent night and spoof night which was a lot
of fun, and makes you realise what hidden talents some people have.
There is also the end of season party with lots of old friends
turning up which is a great way to finish.
And then it was all over for another year.
